AT&T has invested billions of dollars in its networks and systems to prepare for the hurricanes like Gustav and other natural disasters. In addition to donating more than 2,000 GoPhone devices with $15 in air time to Hurricane Gustav evacuees, AT&T is encouraging wireless customers to text 2HELP to donate $5 to the Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund. In addition to the generosity of its customers, AT&T has donated $200,000 this year to the American Red Cross for emergency relief as part of a five-year, $1 million commitment.
